All of us are mandated to work. It is God’s design that we bear much fruits and at the same time find joy and fulfillment in our respective calling. We want to excel in our calling, and the way to excellence is by the wise use of our time. All of us are given 24 hours and what differentiates successful and average people is the way they manage their time. For indeed “a person maybe multi-talented, possesses enormous intelligence and remarkable gift, but can waste them all because of the inability to manage his/her time.”
But before we can see the necessity of time management, we need to convinced of the importance of time. Time is our most precious possession,…

“And He entered into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, He asked him to thrust out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the people out of the boat. And as He stopped speaking, He said to Simon, Launch out into the deep and let your nets down for a haul.
And answering, Simon said to Him, Master, we have toiled all the night and have taken nothing. Yet at Your word I will let down the net.” Luke 5:3 -5
A lot of people gathered by the lake Gennesaret and were eager to hear Jesus speak. But there was a small problem. Jesus couldn’t be seen by the multitude. Jesus then asked Simon to thrust…

A.W. Tozer, in his book, We Travel an Appointed Way, discussed the value of opportunities coming our way. He pointed to the reality that God has given us a wealth of opportunities. He defined opportunity as a providential circumstance which permits us to turn our time, money and our talents to account. Of all gifts this is the most common and it is the one which makes the other gifts (time, talent and money) of value to us and mankind. A wise person will watch for opportunities to do good by making the most of his time, using and improving his talent and spending his money wisely.
Tozer said that the enemy of opportunity is preoccupation. Just when God sends…

Marriage is a mystery. Figure this: how can two people, entirely different from one another (in status, education, physical make-up, culture, race, etc.) decide to live together and love each other for life, with a love that is incomparable with one’s love to parents, relatives or friends. The finding of a mate is also a mystery. A song by David Pomeranz puts it this way: “Got to believe in magic, tell me how two people find each other… in a world that’s full of strangers”. Marriage is like magic.
Choosing a marriage partner is the most important decision a person can make. A life of bliss or misery largely depends on the kind of life partner we chose. Yet a…

Do you want to have a glimpse of what you will become in the future? Then look at how you spend your days and more or less you’ll get a good picture.
Our day to day pre-occupation is paving the way for the general direction of our lives. A student who daily spends time in serious study will be rewarded with commendable grades and a good job later on. But he who spends time with barkadas, making gimmicks here and there is limiting his opportunities for self-advancement. An artist who hones his craft daily is slowly making a name for himself. A mother who daily greets family members with a hug and a kiss is more likely to have a…

Amidst the raging storm of life, it is always the fear of the Lord that brings deliverance to the soul. It topples down all worldly cares, anxieties and insecurities. Nothing is comparable with the fear of the Lord. It is wisdom, it is riches, it is beauty, it is deliverance, it is joy, it is peace. It is one big umbrella of hope that protects the soul from all enemies, imagined or real.
It is the fear of the Lord that should be our security. When we fear the Lord, we have everything. Favors that bless our way, whether in family, career, relationship, business or health, are good in themselves – but deceitful. Deceitful because most people think that these…
