On May 19, 2020, Ravi Zacarias was taken by the Lord. He followed Norman Geisler, who died on July 1, 2019. Both were famous apologists whom God used to enlighten the minds of many about the Christian faith. Both impacted the world through their respective works. Giesler had 130 titles to his name and co-founder of two seminaries. Ravi Zacarias had a global ministry of bringing the Gospel to the ends of the world. He also was a prolific author. I should not forget to mention R.C. Sproul, another famous author and theologian who died on December 14, 2017. He was a brilliant professor. Yes, I personally learned from him on his (free) online classes .

Today I read the news that JI Packer died just the other day, July 17, 2020, at 93. He, too, contributed significantly to Christianity through his writings. He wrote 40 books, including the most famous – Knowing God. These godly men gave a faithful defense of the truth of the Word.

It is sad. But we believe that these brothers of ours had already finished the works God commissioned them to do. Their going home did not create a void. The Lord of Harvest will be sending another to do His work.

We, too, have our respective work on earth. The important thing is in whatever we do; we do our best service to our Master and Lord (Col 3:23). Then we will shine for Him, even if we can’t speak in a big audience like Ravi, or write a book like Packer, Geisler or Sproul.
