Every Beginning Has An End

The year 2021 has begun to roll. Yet as days and months hasten on, we know that 2021 will soon end. Just as our Pastor said, every beginning has an end. Thus, we become wiser if we ponder that as New Year begins, we are drawn one year closer to the end of our lives. Knowing that we will soon leave this earth, our mindset should be to prepare to meet our Lord.

And how do we prepare? If we are leaving for another country, we spend time to get a visa. We book an airline and hotel, and pack our selected clothes. We suspend our social engagements; we don’t stock on food items; we put things in order before we leave.

As we get ourselves ready for a trip, we should also prepare to enter the Heavenly Kingdom. For Christians, let us appreciate that Christ has secured a ticket for us by His blood. He provided for us an access to God’s kingdom. Our job is to equip ourselves to be heavenly citizens. And so we delight in knowing about the Lord and His kingdom day by day through Bible reading, meditation, prayers, and other spiritual duties. We make ourselves busy in doing Kingdom-related work.

We don’t tire ourselves accumulating or doing things that have no eternal significance. Instead, we utilize them for the expansion of God’s kingdom on earth. We want to bring as many souls as we can to the celestial city.

As we enter the new year, new opportunities to work for the Lord opens. Yet, know that our time is short.  Thus, we need to seize each day in serving our God because our life is not measured in years but in days. That is why Moses prayed, “So teach us to number our days, that we may present to Thee a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12).

A Blessed New Year my friend!
